PREAMBLE
This constitution has been necessitated by the need for DIRECTION and ORDERLINESS in the running of the affairs of the Youth Department. It has been derived from the Church’s constitution code on the Youth Department. The most important aspect of it is that, they are guidelines to action. Both the executives and the members of the Youth should always ensure that anything they do is in the Spirit and letter of this constitution.

ARTICLE 1 ROLE
The Youth as an Organization has the primary goal of Harnessing and Utilizing the latent strength and energies of the young people of the church toward the growth and edification of the Body of Christ and also to direct the young people towards leading lives that will hounour the name of God.
It also has a role which has been worked into the framework of the Church’s Goal
( the winning of Souls into the Body of Christ).

ARTICLE 2 DEFINED
The Youth is limited to every member of the church who falls within the age of

ARTICLE 3 OFFICES
The Youth Department shall have the under-listed offices.
a. President
b. Vice President
c. Secretary / Organizing Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Prayer Secretary and Assistant

The Youth Department shall also have at any time four (4) patrons, two (2) from the Men Ministry and two (2) from the Women Ministry. The head Pastor or his representative will be the Ex – officio member of the Youth Department.
The above listed officers with the exception of the four (4) patrons shall form the executive of the Youth Department.


ARTICLE 4 EXECUTIVE AUTHORITIES
The executives will be responsible for organizing and co- ordinating all the activities of the Youth. They make all the decisions necessary for attaining the objectives of the Youth as stated in the article one (1) . They shall be accountable to the General Meeting of the Youth for any decision or action they take.
In case of deadlock or any decision they may want to make, the Youth Body as a whole will be called upon to deliberate and decide on the issue by a simple majority vote.
 

 

 

ARTICLE 5 RESPONSIBILITIES OF OFFICERS
President:
He/ she shall chair all executive meetings and also see to it that all general meeting decisions are implimented.Again,he/she will take all decisions and actions necessary for the running of the Youth Department, subject to the overiding decision of the executive and general meeting.

Vice president:
He/she shall act in the absence of the president and shall undertake any assignment that the president or the executives shall place on him / her.

Secretary
He/she shall be responsible for taking down all the minutes,attendance and performance of members at all meetings including the General meeting and duly inform all persons whenever they need to be informed about any decision of the excutives or General Meeting, receives reply and keeps all correspondence. He/ she has to undertake all secretarial duties necessary.

Organizing Secretary
He/she shall see to the organizing as well as ensuring the success of all meetings planned.This includes planning and providing all means needed for the scheduled programme.

Treasurer
He/she shall be responsible for keeping the financial records,receives all dues and make disbursments only on the authority of the president,his vice or authorized executive.He/she shall be preparing for the quarterly and annualy financial statements and also play the role of a financial secretary.Keeping records of receipts and payments and organizing fund raising activities.

Prayer Secretary
He/she acts as the Spiritual Backbone of the executive body and the entire youth department,seeing to the organizing of prayer meetings,retreats,leading or assigning individuals to lead prayer sessions before meetings begin.

Assistant Prayer Secretary
He/she shall step in for the prayer secretary when indisposed and also help in the organizing of prayer meetings and retreats.
